We’ve come a long way…
Established as a family business by plumber Allan Kennedy in 1976, Kennedys began as a small, family-run plumbing business servicing Melbourne and surrounds.
Year on year, through industry booms, economic busts and pandemics, we’ve adapted and thrived as major service providers in the commercial and industrial plumbing, electrical, metal fabrication and engineering, and asbestos & mould remediation spaces.
We’ve achieved this solid growth by providing service you can count on, and delivering with integrity, always.
The beginning…
Backed by history. Future focused.
Still a family held business, sons Chris and Shannon Kennedy have taken the reins as Directors.
In 2021, along with third Director, Richard MacDonald, and a cross-disciplinary trades Management team, they’ve expanded the Kennedys Group offering to 6 major divisions.
Together, these divisions provide full-scope solutions, tailored to your needs.
Allan Kennedy, the founding Director of Kennedy Plumbing, commenced trading in 1976 as a sole trader in the backyard of his parents’ home in Williamstown.
The Asbestos removal activities commenced in 1985, expanding to include Environmental Management in 2014.
In 1997 our Geelong workshop commenced trading under Allan’s leadership. Geelong developed concurrently with the Williamstown workshop, resulting in an expansion of capabilities and resources.

In 2014, the Kennedys expanded to include Electrical Services to support clients’ industrial maintenance needs further and offer a convenient one-stop solution for trade services.
In 2017, the Kennedy Group again expanded to include Metal Fabrication and Engineering services.
Today, Kennedys Group is one of Victoria’s leading industrial maintenance providers. A recognised industry leader, our business is still grounded in strong family values and led by Allan’s sons, Directors Shannon and Chris Kennedy. Alongside Managing Director, Richard MacDonald.
Rick Slevison is our longest standing employee, approaching his 43rd year of service. He has watched the business start from scratch under the guidance of founder, Allan Kennedy. He has seen the business grow, diversify and transform into the Group…Read More
