Project Tubig San Jose was the first official initiative under Kennedys Group’s a better way to give back program. The project delivered sustainable clean water access to remote communities in San Jose, Tarlac, Philippines.

Over 16 days and across more than 16,000 kilometres, Kennedys Group volunteers Chris Dendle, Josh Leahy, Chad Hall, and Director Chris Kennedy worked alongside Waves For Water Philippines and local community members. Together, they helped restore and strengthen critical water infrastructure for the Abelling Tribe communities of Sitio San Pedro and Sitio Agus.

The project focused on reconnecting communities to reliable mountain-fed water sources. The team completed practical, hands-on work using basic tools and locally sourced materials. By working closely with residents, they helped deliver long-term improvements that support sustainable access to clean water.

Before work began, the team met with Waves For Water Philippines representatives and local government officials in the Tarlac region. These discussions helped align the project scope, understand community needs, and reinforce a shared commitment to lasting impact.

Project Tubig San Jose was about more than infrastructure. It focused on partnership, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Throughout the project, Kennedys Group volunteers shared plumbing skills and maintenance knowledge with local residents. This helped support the ongoing operation and upkeep of the systems long after the project was completed.

The experience demonstrated the power of community, cultural connection, and practical action in creating meaningful change. Despite differences in language and background, the project united volunteers and residents through the Filipino spirit of bayanihan, a collective approach to helping one another.

Project Tubig San Jose marks the beginning of Kennedys Group’s ongoing commitment to giving back through initiatives that create lasting, positive impact within communities.
